In September, the foothills of the Tatras will come alive with the largest balloon event in Slovakia’s history. 40 balloons from around the world will take to the sky, and the panorama of the High Tatras will become the backdrop for a unique spectacle.
Top pilots from more than 16 countries will gather in Veľká Lomnica. Crews from Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland, Armenia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, USA and other countries have already confirmed their participation. They will compete in an official international competition as part of their preparation for the World Hot Air Balloon Championships.
Alongside competitive flights, fiesta balloons will also take off, in which you can reserve your place. Over five days, 7 launches are planned in both morning and evening hours. They will offer unforgettable views of the Tatras from above and the balloon fleet all around.
The main program of the event will be on Saturday, September 12th. You can look forward to a tethered balloon ride, walk-in balloon, night glow, Tatra Cycle Ride, drone show, music, gastro zone and a program for the whole family.
